B3313 Wiki

Not to be confused with Clock Tower.

Wing Cap by the Rainbow Highway is an area in B3313.

Description[]

The area consists of a big tower in the sky with the Red Cap Switch on top of it, reached via a rainbow trail connecting several checkered platforms. There are also several smaller but unreachable towers in the distance.

Prior to v1.0 Hotfix 2, MIPS could be found at the base of the tower.

Origins[]

The area's layout is an original creation. Some textures are taken from the Shoshinkai beta version of Super Mario 64.

The music playing is the "Underground Arrangement" of the "Coincentration" track from Super Mario 64 DS.

Stars[]

This area has 2 stars to collect:

  • Collecting all 8 red coins rewards the player with a star.
  • Wall-jumping at the end of the course will lead you to a star.
  • (pre-v1.0 Hotfix 2) MIPS could be caught twice on one of the corners at the bottom of the tower after getting 15 and 50 stars.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of two areas where the Red Switch can be found, the other being Tower of the Wing Cap (beta).
  • Due to the chance of stars being rendered permanently lost, Chris removed MIPS from the stage in v1.0 Hotfix 2. Prior to this hotfix, the MIPS in Uncanny Courtyard and Vanilla Basement were both part of the overworld. Therefore, both would advance MIPS stage 1 to MIPS stage 2 for all MIPS in the game when one was caught for the first time. Because of this, it was not possible to get 4 stars total from the two overworld MIPS: the player could only get 2 stars from one or the other, or 1 star from each, making it impossible to collect every single star in the game.
  • Before being removed, the MIPS in this course had two stars. The first star had a unique star ID, but the second star shared the same star ID as the "Inside the Big House" star in Rainbow Ride (beta). Because of this, collecting one of latter stars would cause the other star to show as already collected.
