B3313 Wiki

The City is an area in B3313.

Description[]

This area is a flat urban course set in the middle of night. Scuttlebugs mostly inhabit this area, along with two Bob-ombs. One, a Bob-omb Buddy in a side alley, is a bookkeeper who warns the player to handle his books with care.

The tall building in the back can be scaled using wall-jumps. At the very top are a yellow Bob-omb and a crystal tap which will flood the area. Though the color of a Bob-omb Buddy, this particular Bob-omb is actually an enemy who can be detonated.

Origins[]

This area shares a model with area of the same name from Gamma64, because both levels were authored by The Bob.

The music is Illusion Cave, a variation of "Cave Dungeon" composed by NewSupKaizo55.

Stars[]

This area has 4 stars to collect:

  • Destroy the bookkeeper's stack of books, actually a retextured box, by picking it up and throwing it.
  • Collect a Vanish Cap then jump in the moat and go through the grate to collect the star.
  • Detonating the yellow Bob-omb on top of the tallest building will spawn a star, although it can spawn inside the building where it cannot be collected.
  • Touching the crystal tap on top of the building to flood the city will spawn a star.
  • (v0.9) Collect 8 red coins on the rooftops.

Trivia[]

  • The bookkeeper Bob-omb Buddy will warn Mario/Luigi to be careful with his books even after they've been destroyed. This mission parodies one in Gamma64 where the player is tasked with carrying a stack of books from one Bob-omb Buddy to another, without destroying them.
  • Likewise, in Gamma64, the player receives a star for rescuing a Bob-omb Buddy stranded on the tallest building's roof, rather than killing him.
  • A duplicate of the tall building appears in Randomized Realm, with a very different yellow Bob-omb at the top.
  • The unique Vanish Cap box could be a reference to the early version of the item box from Mario Kart 64.
