River Mountain is an area in B3313.

Description

The area looks similar to the vanilla Bob-omb Battlefield, with a few alterations. Near the spawn point, a river passes between the mountain and the lower level of the area. On the other side of the course, a structure leads up to several islands in the sky. Near the top of the waterfall next to the mountain, a cliff contains a warp hole. The mountain itself has a spike and a pipe at the top. Also, several more enemies inhabit the area, especially Whomps.

Origins

The area and its name originate from one of Emmy's videos, as most of the layout and textures match up. Additionally, the appearance of the pipe at the top of the mountain and the trees around the area comes from an unused model found in Super Mario 64's source code.

This area has 3 stars to collect:

• Collect 8 red coins.
• Open the item box on one of the islands in the sky.
• Reach the top of the mountain.

In v0.7, the 100 coin star for Course 3 could be collected here.

Warps

Leading here

• Bob-omb Battlefield (beta): Jump into the pipe at the top of the mountain.
• Beta Lobby D: Enter the second door from the left and then the painting.

Leading away

• Dark Downtown: Jump into the hole on the cliff divided from the mountain by the waterfall.
• (v0.9 and later) Inside the Summit/(v0.7) Big Bob-omb's Fortress: Jump into the pipe at the top of the mountain.

Trivia

• River Mountain is Chris' favorite area, and its appearance in Emmy's video was the main inspiration for B3313's creation.
• In earlier versions, the "Floating Island Item Box" star in River Mountain shared the same star ID as the "Defeat 5 Piranha Plants" star in Piranha's Igloo. Therefore, collecting the star in one area caused it to appear as already collected in the other area.
• River Mountain is also called Bomb-omb River on the Parallel Launcher.
• In v0.4's iteration of the area, there's a single yellow ? box that can't be seen by normal means. It's near the area under the bridge, but it's tucked inside of the wall.
