Purple Upstairs

Purple Upstairs is an area in B3313.

Description[]

The area's layout matches up with Vanilla Upstairs, and thus also with Super Mario 64's second and third floors, with the addition of a lobby area leading to the stairs, and most of the warps in the top floor missing. The area has, in general, has darker atmosphere, and, as the area's name implies, most of the area's textures were modified to feature the color purple.

Origins[]

The area is heavily inspired by a video showcasing the internal castle plexus, which was created by Marionova64. This video is the origin for most of the wall textures, with other textures coming from beta and final versions of Super Mario 64, with tweaks. Some paintings are in their vanilla versions.

In v0.2, the music played here was an arrangement of Inside the Castle Walls.

In v0.4 - Unabandoned, the music playing is "Big Boo's Haunt" from Super Mario 64.

As of v1.0, the music playing is an arrangement of "River Twygz Bed" from Super Paper Mario.

Bowser Hallway: Enter the double door at the top of the "endless" stairs on the top floor.
Bowser's Castle: Enter the double door at the back of the lobby area.
Vanilla Upstairs: Enter the painting of the night sky next to the stairway leading to the top floor.
Purple Lobby: Enter the single door in the Tiny-Huge Island room.
(v0.2) Barren Lobby: Enter the door that would usually lead to the second floor.

Bowser in the Dark World (Shoshinkai): Jump into the hole at the top of the "endless" stairs.
Vanilla Upstairs: Enter through the single door on the other side of the mirror room.
(v0.9/UA) Tubular Lobby / (v1.0) Aventura Lobby: In the lobby area, stand in front of the pair of eyes/white spots near the double doors. This warps to the Negative Room of the Tubular Lobby.
(v0.7) Goomboss Battle: Enter one of the paintings in the Tiny-Huge Island room.
