B3313 Wiki

Monochrome Lobby is an area in B3313.

Description[]

The starting area heavily resembles the Beta Lobbies with a grayscale coloration. The painting rooms have no paintings in them, and the door ordinarily leading to the Uncanny Courtyard has a black void on the other side. Taking the double door at the top leads to a hallway where the second half of the lobby resides at the far end.

Similar to Bowser's Castle, the other room is circular with a sun carpet, a dead-end with a painted wall, and another double door. Taking this double door leads to a dark room housing a one-way pipe to World of Dreams.

Origins[]

The main room's model is taken directly from The Preservation Project's Spaceworld '95 demo build recreation of Super Mario 64, with some discrepancies regarding wall textures, which are taken from the game's beta or vanilla files. The circular room accessed via the hallway upstairs is based on a well-known concept of the supposed fourth floor of the castle.

In v1.0, "Dire, Dire Victory," a track by ChrisBrutalAgresion, plays here. In earlier versions, there is no music playing in this area.

Trivia[]

  • All of the painting room doors in the lobby have the number 3 on them.
  • In v0.9, looking up at the ceiling from the main lobby will cause the game to crash.
  • Occasionally, the painting rooms' doors will either take the player to the wrong painting room, or to be shown exiting into the lobby from the incorrect room. The player may also randomly switch plumbers while going through the painting rooms' doors. These phenomena may be related to the player's dynamic difficulty values.

Luigi entering one door and exiting another, followed by Luigi switching to Mario when going through a door.
