MIPS is a rabbit who can be found in multiple areas within the castle plexus in B3313.
Description[]
MIPS is a yellow rabbit who was Peach's pet in the vanilla Super Mario 64. B3313 appears to use MIPS's model from the vanilla game, with the texture of his eyes removed. The hack reinstates an animation of the player character throwing MIPS instead of setting him down, which was removed from the vanilla game.[1]
Role in B3313[]
As in the vanilla game, MIPS gives stars to the player when caught. As of v1.0 hotfix 1, MIPS appears twice in the peaceful state of Uncanny Courtyard: once after the player has collected 15 stars, and again after they've collected 50 stars. He also always appears in MIPS's Forest, regardless of how many stars the player has.
In earlier versions of B3313, MIPS appeared in several other places. Collecting stars from MIPS in an overworld location advanced him in all locations, meaning that MIPS's stars in those locations could be missed and become uncollectable. V1.0 hotfix 1 resolved this issue by removing MIPS from the other locations.
Locations[]
MIPS appears in the following areas:
- Uncanny Courtyard (peaceful state): in the alcove above the door to Peach's castle.
- MIPS's Forest: on the hill near the middle of the area.
- (pre v1.0 hotfix 1) Crimson Hallway: in the hallway with the possessed chair.
- (pre v1.0 hotfix 1) Wing Cap by the Rainbow Highway: on one of the corners of the bottom tower's platform.
- (pre v0.9) Vanilla Basement: in the same location as in vanilla Super Mario 64.

Trivia[]
- "MIPS" is an acronym for Microprocessor without Interlocked Pipeline Stages.
- In very early versions of B3313, MIPS still has his eyes from the vanilla game.
