King Whomp's Battle Arena is an area in B3313.
Description[]
The area consists of a small grassy island floating in the sky, with a cannon on it leading to a large grey platform, with several Whomps and flowers. King Whomp is among them. Underneath the big arena is an upside-down version of Whomp's Fortress.
Origins[]
Barring the island the player spawns on, the area seems to be reminiscent of King Whomp's arena in Super Mario Galaxy 2. The resemblence is furter reinforced by the upside-down whomp's fortress underneath the arena, akin to Mario Galaxy 2. In v1.0 Official, black holes can be seen in the skybox.
Textures are mostly taken from the Shoshinkai beta version of Super Mario 64. The appearance of the trees and animated flowers comes from unused sprites found in the vanilla game's source code.
As of the second hotfix of 1.0, the music playing is "Boss Intro" originating from Super Mario 64 DS. In earlier versions (including Unabandoned), "Koopa's Road" plays instead.
Stars[]
This area has 1 star to collect:
- Defeating King Whomp rewards the player with a star (a red star in v1.0 Official).
Warps[]
Two-way[]
- Whomp's Prison: Jump into the pipe on the small platform.

Trivia[]
- King Whomp's dialogue is reminiscent of the vanilla game but refers to Whomps being used to build "your castles." Bowser's "new fortress" that is "hidden deep within the castle" is likely Eternal Fort/Eternal Fort (beta). "You'll never be worthy to enter!" is possibly a reference to the requirement of 13 red stars needed to pass the star door on the route to Eternal Fort.
- The entirety of the upside-down Whomp's Fortress has no collision, so the player can clip right through it.
