Description

Similar to the Hazy Maze Cave course of the vanilla game, this "beta" variation contains several teal Goombas, which take multiple hits to be defeated. Other enemies include Swoops and Scuttlebugs.

Two paths are available from the spawn point. The path on the left leads to a large room with several red coins and enemies, and a hole leading to the "Deadly Maze," reminiscent of the Toxic Maze found in the vanilla Hazy Maze Cave.

The path on the right leads to a large room divided by a grate and a hallway on each wall. Taking the hallway on the right wall will take the player to a hole leading down to the "Underground Lake." The hallway on the left wall leads to another maze which eventually exits on the other side of the grate, where the spawner for the red coin star is located.

Origins

This is a modified version of Hazy Mazy Cave from the vanilla game.

The music is a reversed version of the underground theme from the vanilla game OST.

Stars

This area has 3 stars to collect:

• Navigate the "Deadly Maze" to reach an item box containing a star.
• The "Underground Lake" contains a star on an island.
• Collect all 8 red coins to earn a star.

Warps

• Plexal Basement: In the orange section's hallways, enter the door with a 1 on it next to the Lethal Lava Land painting, then enter the giant pipe.
