Floor 4B is an area in B3313.

Description

Floor 4B is possibly one of the largest areas in the hack, sporting multiple connected rooms that all seem to loop back to each other with plenty of room to run around. Other than long hallways and many bridges, this area also has random but shallow pits that don't serve as difficult obstacles.

The area roughly consists of two halves, one somewhat linear and the other filled with meandering pathways. Each half has a few painting rooms, and the area contains a number of warps to other locations within the plexus.

A corrupted version of Floor 4B can be triggered by walking into four specific areas of the hub:

• The inclines on either side of the door leading to the Tox Box painting room.
• The area around the Tox Box painting.
• A corner next to a Whomp's Fortress painting at the end of a hallway, across from a door.

Origins

This area is inspired by an image used in one of wasteofblood's 1995 tracks of the name "2nd Floor." Most comparable is the image containing the Tox Box painting. The more linear half of the area was created by PatCangy, and the meandering half was created by Chris.

The music is a somber rendition of the "Inside Castle" theme from the vanilla game's OST, composed by NewSupKaizo55. When the area is darkened, the music changes to a remix of "River Twygz Bed" from Super Paper Mario by NewSupKaizo55. The Star collection theme and a highly distorted version of the title screen music can also play abruptly, ending the area's main theme.

Warps

Two-way

• Purple Castle: Enter the door at the end of the purple-lined aquarium.
• Elder Koopa's Library: Move the bookshelf in the hallway leading to Bros' House.
• Bros' House: Near the movable bookshelf in a tan-walled hallway, enter the single door at the end.
• Basement Maze: Enter the door at the end of a hallway with the basement wall texture.
• Parallel Lobby: Enter the a lined door next to the painting room with the Grindel.
• Vanilla Upstairs: Enter the double doors near the bottom of the area, in a small room.
• Mirrored Upstairs: Enter the double doors near the top of the area, past the upper bridge.
• Floor 4B (Corrupted): Walk through specific triggers around the hub (e.g., in front of the Tox Box painting).
• Castle Depths: In the blue hall near the bridge room and the room leading to Toxic Ruins, go through the door opposite to the room with holes.
• Genesis Basement: Jump into a warp pipe in the room with zig-zag slopes.

• Warped Internal Garden: Enter the warp hole behind the door leading to Parallel Lobby, or the first window on the left when coming from Parallel Lobby.

• Water Cube: Jump into the painting of Bob-ombs in Wet-Dry World.
• Toxic Ruins: Jump into the painting of a Grindel in a poison sea.
• Dream Battlefield: Jump into the painting of a sea of clouds.
• Fly Guy's Hill: Jump into the painting of grass and flowers.
• Dream Forest: Jump into the Goomba painting near the Peach stained glass window.
• Big Blue Skylands: In the hallway leading to Bros' House, jump up the ledge on the right then down the warp hole.

• Crusher: Walk into an ominous hole in the purple-lined aquarium.
• Peach's Secret Slide (beta): Jump into the Peach stained glass window.
• Plexal Hallway: Move the bookshelf in the aquarium section.
