B3313 Wiki

Eel Graveyard is an area in B3313.

Description[]

The player spawns in a tunnel, which leads to a large open area full of clams and stationary eels, sharks etc. There is a high ground platform in the middle, above is where you will get the area's only star.

Additionally, approaching the yellow eel on the left will cause the textures to glitch out repeatedly, also making the clam secrets unobtainable. This only applies for 1.0 and beyond.

Origins[]

The area's layout seems to be an original creation. Textures are taken from the vanilla Super Mario 64 and its beta version.

The music is a variation of the "Dire, Dire Docks" theme from the same game. It uses the music box instrument from the Piranha Plant's lullaby track and is distorted.

Stars[]

This area has 1 star to collect:

  • Touch 5 specific clams, which act like secrets, to receive a star (a red star in Unabandoned).
  • (v1.0) Touching the tails of some eels will spawn stars out-of-bounds. These cannot be collected but share IDs with other stars so are not considered significant. This is likely because the original eel design was made with a star on the tail, and it doesn't work without one.

Trivia[]

  • There are two manta rays and two eels in the area, which will all yield stars when interacted with. However, the location of these stars is unknown (most likely OOB), and their IDs are duplicates of reachable stars in other locations.
  • In v1.0.1 the exclamation point with Mario icon sign is added. This is used in several other levels to signify glitched spots or important plot points.
  • Dying in this area with 0 stars, in v0.9, will crash the game.
  • There was an empty version of the area fittingly called Empty Graveyard, it got removed in the Christmas Build.
