Description

The level is a massive structure made on a stone floor encompassed in a small valley. The enemies of this level are Piranha Plants, Goombas, Whomps, a Fly Guy, and bubble cannons. At the top of the fortress is King Whomp.

Origins

For the most part, this level is taken directly from Dream 64, including the layout, enemies, and star locations. However, the Big Bob-omb is missing, and King Whomp's dialogue has been altered to match his dialogue in King Whomp's Battle Arena.

This area has 3 stars to collect:

• Defeat King Whomp.
• Destroy the "?" block on top of the tall iron bars.
• Use the cannon on top of the structure to shoot to the ledge across the course, then break open the "?" block.

Trivia

• In King Whomp's dialogue, Bowser's "new fortress" that is "hidden deep within the castle" is likely Eternal Fort/Eternal Fort (beta). "You'll never be worthy to enter!" is possibly a reference to the requirement of 13 red stars needed to pass the star door on the route to Eternal Fort.
