Dark Monochrome Castle is an area in B3313.
Description[]
The area looks almost identical to the Monochrome Castle Grounds. The main distinctions are the darker fog, locked front door(s), and back doors broken off their hinges.
Origins[]
The front area comes from the Shoshinkai beta version of Super Mario 64, with the grayscale filter in particular resembling an image seen in the November 22, 1995, patent.
The music playing is the track "Dire, Dire Victory" by Chris. The track is significantly slowed down due to it always being nighttime in the area, regardless of the player's system clock.

Trivia[]
- In the initial release of v1.0, both front doors were locked. The left one was made accessible in the second hotfix.
- When using Star Display, attempting to warp to Dark Monochrome Castle with the default Warp ID of 10 will crash the game. Using a Warp ID of 1 or 2 will work.
