B3313 Wiki

Crimson Hallway is an area in B3313.

Description[]

The player spawns in the main room with a checkerboard floor and three doors. Up ahead is a tunnel with a chair and possibly MIPS in it, along with a hole at the end. The key door leads Mario/Luigi into a maze area, which has Big Boo, several chairs and another key door at the end.

There is an identical-looking version of this area that warps the player to Dark Monochrome Castle (v1.0) or Monochrome Castle Grounds (Christmas Build-v0.9) when they die there with at least 1 red star while ACT 1 is enabled. Dying in this version without meeting the requirements will crash the game. It can be reached if the player warps to Crimson Hallway directly from Plexal Lobby either by killing Big Boo or via a warp pipe.[1]

Origins[]

The area's layout seems to be an original creation, with the wall texture being a darker version of the one often found in the vanilla Super Mario 64.

The music playing is "Infinite Castle Maze," composed by NewSupKaizo55.

Stars[]

  • (1.0 Pre-Hotfix) MIPS can be caught twice in the hallway with the chair and the hole at the end after getting 15 and 50 stars, respectively.

Warps[]

Two-way[]

  • Beta Lobby C: Go through the single door to the left of the key door.

Leading here[]

  • Plexal Lobby: In the main room, go through the leftmost door with the number 1 on it, and then the pipe at the front. Alternatively, in the hallway side room, go into the room with flames, defeat the Big Boo and jump into its cage. Finally, in the mirror room, defeat the Big Boo at the other side of the mirror and jump into its cage.

Trivia[]

  • (Prior to v1.0 hotfix 2) The MIPS in this course has two stars. The first star has a unique star ID but the second star shares the same star ID as the "5 Secrets" star in Goomba Hills. Because of this, collecting the star from one of them is the same as collecting the star from the other and thus the player will not get a duplicate star.
  • (Prior to v1.0 hotfix 2) The MIPS in Uncanny Courtyard and Vanilla Basement are both part of the overworld and therefore both will advance MIPS stage 1 to MIPS stage 2 for all MIPS in the game when one is caught for the first time. Because of this, it is not possible to get 4 stars total from both overworld MIPS. The player can only get 2 stars from one or the other, or 1 star from each overworld MIPS. The only exceptions are the MIPS in Crimson Hallway and Wing Cap by the Rainbow Highway as those 2 MIPS are inside of courses and therefore will not advance the MIPS stage when caught, however, they are still affected by MIPS stage advancing when an overworld MIPS is caught, making it recommended to catch the 2 course MIPS first before the 2 overworld MIPS as the player will lose the course MIPS stars permanently if they don't, making it impossible to collect every single star in the game.
  • In v0.9, dying in the second version of this area from Plexal Lobby was the only way to reach Star Road without using cheats or modifying the game.
  • The locked door that has the left side of the door sealed only has been that way since it was introduced in v0.2.
