B3313 Wiki

Castle Grounds (Sunset) is an area in B3313.

Description[]

Unlike the other times of day, the sunset version of the Castle Grounds can only be randomly accessed by exiting any of the Beta Lobbies. The area varies from other versions of the Castle Grounds in the following ways:

  • The skybox is a dark orange, in contrast to both the Castle Grounds and Nighttime Castle Grounds.
  • Pressing L can still switch characters between Mario and Luigi, unlike the nighttime variant.
  • The Wing Cap block is now a regular block with nothing in it.
  • Yoshi is missing, both from the roof and from outside the cave behind the castle.
  • The Waterfall area is inaccessible.

Warps that normally lead to the daytime Castle Grounds have a chance to lead here instead, after enough progress is made via collecting Red Stars.

In v0.9, there was a random chance that exiting the beta lobbies would lead to Nighttime Castle Grounds, even when it wasn't nighttime. This area was added to correct that phenomenon.

Origins[]

The area is inspired by the Shoshinkai beta version of Super Mario 64. The Toad statue behind the castle can be seen in some of Emmy's videos, but the area is otherwise an original creation.

There is no music playing in this area, but ambient nighttime sounds can be heard.

Warps[]

Two-way[]

  • Beta Lobby A: Go through the left door of the front double doors.
  • Beta Lobby E: Go through the right door of the front double doors.
  • Crescent Castle: Go through the back double doors.
  • Genesis Basement: Swim into the hole under the bridge.
  • Silent Hall: To the right of Crescent Castle, jump onto the mini-balcony across from the waterfall and enter the door.
  • Toad's Lobby: Go through the door in the wall behind the Toad statue.

Leading here (by random chance)[]

Leading away[]

  • Scary Sewer Maze: Under the bridge, jump into the hole inside of the castle wall.
  • Dark Hallway: Enter the cave in the wall behind the castle.
  • Eel Graveyard: Go out of bounds, most commonly by water.
  • Twisted Red Hallway: Enter the double door in the passageway hidden behind the clock symbol in front of the castle.
  • Sunken Castle: Enter the hole underwater next to the waterfall.
  • lobby.z64 (beta): Going through the front doors has a random chance of warping here.

Trivia[]

  • In Beta Lobby D, exiting through the right door has a higher chance of leading here.
  • The waterfall to the left of the castle has collision, unlike the daytime Castle Grounds. This may be a bug.
