Bowser's Checkered Madness is an area in B3313.
Description[]
The area consists of two rooms. The one the player spawns in also houses Bowser and two bombs, while the other, separated by a key door, has only one bomb and a cork box.
Origins[]
The area's layout seems to be an original creation. The walls seemingly have recolored textures from the vanilla Super Mario 64.
The music is an original composition inspired by Ultimate Koopa from the vanilla game. In versions prior to v0.9, the music was a remix of the final boss theme from the Super Mario World OST.
Stars[]
This area has 2 stars to collect. However, 1 is a duplicate.
- Defeat Bowser (Duplicate of Bowser in the Dark World (Shoshinkai))
- Go into the other room and break a box.

Trivia[]
- Despite the area being located in the second Bowser level, Bowser doesn't use the attacks that he gains in that fight. This is likely because they wouldn't function properly.
- Breaking the cork box open reveals an invisible, sparkling object, collecting which ejects Mario/Luigi from the level, seemingly acting as a "key". However, it is likely that the object is a retextured star, which when collected in areas with Bowser battles look like keys, but don't actually grant the player the ability to open the key doors that it would otherwise allow to. The point of this appearing in the hack is unknown.
- The purpose of this object is revealed in v0.9, as it is this cork box that houses one of the game's many Red Stars.
- In 0.7, Collecting the Bowser 2 key presses the Yellow Switch automatically and vice versa.
- In v1.0, the red star from defeating Bowser is a duplicate of the Red Star from Bowser in the Dark World (Shoshinkai). This is a reference to how several stars shared IDs in v0.9.[1]
