12022021.z64 is the oldest rom of B3313 which is available to the public. It's the first public rom of The B3313 v0.2 Era.

Label Debate

Several factors have lead to the labeling of this build being contested. Hornet, a long-time developer, had created a chart of B3313's development eras, listing 0.2's era as being from January 8th, 2021 to March 8th, 2021. When 12022021.z64 was initially released by Chris R. Lillo in a private chat, he asked if this build would count as "0.2" due to it being dated to February 12th, 2021. When this build was later leaked to the public, Chris's comment was taken out of context, which led people to believe that this rom was the definitive version of 0.2, despite the fact that the label of v0.2 described a whole timespan of builds.

When Chris was asked about the nature of this build, Chris had stated that this build was named personalizedcopy.z64 and that it was not a B3313 build. Due to historical drama and seeming inconsistencies with what Chris says about the build and what is actually in the build, however, those in the wider B3313 community do not believe what he has said regarding this build. Individuals point to the fact that this build was used to create the 2021-03-07 build, more commonly known as "0.2.5". "0.2.5" would later be used to create the 0.3 build, which is confirmed to be 0.3 due to its rom header, both of the rom's leakers stating that it is 0.3, and a leaked conversation from Chris showing the original file being given the 0.3 name. Individuals also point to the order warps were implemented in Castle Grounds, showing that a good amount of the areas from other sources were added in parallel with areas that would be B3313 mainstays. Due to the lack of material from what Chris says is the actual 0.2 build, there is no information to contest these counterclaims. Chris had additionally stated that there was a real "B3313 v0.2" build, but that it would not be released.
